If my student(s) decide not to participate, will a refund for registration fees be issued? 

Students who are cut from a team during tryouts will receive a full refund of their registration fee. Any student who decides not to participate during the first week of practice (tryout week included) will also receive a full refund. Any student who removes themselves or is removed from a team after the first week of practice for any reason will not be eligible for a refund.

When and where can I obtain specific information about each sport? 

Before each season, check for information on this school's website, in the daily announcements and announcements from Mr. Babcock.

Is there an exemption for paying for a third sport? 

There is no longer an exemption for paying for a third sport. Students are required to pay for every sport participated.

Transportation

The district does not provide transportation to and from sporting events as parents/guardians are responsible for all sports-related transportation for their student-athlete.

What is the difference between interscholastic and intramural sports? 

Interscholastic sports are where our student-athletes compete against other middle school athletic teams and the seasons typically last 8-9 weeks with daily practice schedules. Intramural only competes against other Berkshire classmates with practices usually being held three times a week before school.

The tennis club operates as an interscholastic sport in that athletes in all grades usually practice every day at the Birmingham Country Club.

In an effort to ensure that student-athletes receive the appropriate professional attention for head injuries, the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), will begin to provide student athletes with additional insurance that is intended to pay accident medical benefits resulting from a suspected concussion when participating in MHSAA covered activities.
