Welcome 6th Graders!

Welcome to Berkshire Middle School! We strive to help you experience the best you can on your learning journey!

Transition is difficult and different for each student. Some have no problems while others struggle with the new responsibilities.

Your success is up to you. When you need help, ask for it. If you see a student struggling with his new environment, reach out to them and lend support. A caring community is what we are all about!

Many students ask "What is it like to be a sixth grader?"  Come along and you will see how great it is to be a Wildcat!

Bus/Parent Drop-Off:

Bus Drop-Off is located off of 14 Mile Road

Parent Drop-Off is located at the front of the building

Students can arrive at school no earlier than 7:30 AM. 6th grade students will go to the cafeteria and wait for the first bell at 8:05 AM.  Here, you can take advantage and enjoy a free breakfast being served daily!

At 8:05AM students are released to go to their lockers, drop off their backpacks and get the materials needed for 1st hour.

Passing Time
Passing time is when students are allowed to be in the halls between classes. You have four minutes to go to your locker, go to the bathroom if needed and head to your next class!! Four minutes doesn’t seem like a lot of time but as you get used to your daily routine, you will find that it is!

Don’t be Late for Class!
For the first couple of days you are given a little bit of a break in order for teachers to help you get adjusted to the new routine.

Our policy states that all students must be in their next class by the bell each hour or you will be marked tardy.

Locker Issues
No worries! If you can’t open your lock, don’t panic! Take a breath and try again calmly. Ask a friend or look for an adult to help you! You’ve got this! Teachers understand your struggles when you come here and will help you. All you have to do is ask!

Lunch/REC Time
Lunch for sixth graders begins at 12:11 each day. That translates to after 4th hour! Students are excused from 4th hour to go to the cafeteria. Once there, you get in line to buy lunch. If you packed a lunch you can go directly to your table to start eating. Snacks are available anytime during lunch by going to the snack bar also in the cafeteria.

After Lunch and REC you are off to C3!
You have made it through most of your Day! Great job Wildcats!

School ID’s Needed

School ID  In your elementary school there were fewer students and you were assigned to one classroom. When you move to Middle school, you are assigned to six classrooms all over the building. Each teacher has over 100 students each day. Your ID is important to help staff learn who you are and where you are supposed to be.

ID’s are also crucial for buying lunch in the cafeteria. It speeds up the buying process and helps keep track of your account. There is nothing worse than being hungry and behind a student who does not have their ID!
ID’s are also important in the Media Center to check out books. It speeds up the process of checking out a book and also helps keep your accounts in order! Carry your ID at all times!
